Update: model maintenance
Welcome to the new followers who joined after I posted about the Handbook in the Modeller's Miscellany. I admit to being a little nervous about opening up the Handbook to a broader audience. But I guess it's out there now! Thanks for joining!
Since my last update, I've been working on the "model maintenance" section. I've added:
- How to check for duplicate row labels.
- How to sense check the units in your model
- Model release checklist. I would be really interested in additional thoughts and feedback on this chapter: what do you do & check in your model before you release it?
I've updated Skill 5 - Adding a new calculation to include the optional step of adding a sparkline. We recently added a keystroke to the productivity pack macros to make adding a sparkline easier.
We are working on a systematic overhaul of the Productivity Pack macro code to make it much more Mac friendly. More on that in the coming weeks.
The book is now in need of thorough proofreading and editing.
I'm speaking to several editors to get started on that while I wrap up the last few chapters. In the meantime, thanks to all of you who are feeding back on typos, errors and omissions. Very much appreciated.
I'm also thinking about the format that I will release the book in. I'm preparing a short questionnaire on that to find out what you would find most useful. I'll send that out in a few days and I hope you'll share your thoughts.
